    SESSION 1
Smart Marketing: Make decisions based on data not assumptions
You don’t know your customers as well as you think you do. A limited marketing budget should not be wasted on guesses, not when there are ways you can determine exactly to whom you should be marketing. Understanding who your best customers really are –knowing where they come from and what kinds of things motivate them – gives you control over your marketing and, ultimately, success. That kind of control also gives you the tactical advantage when negotiating with salespeople from media companies.

The essence of effective marketing is to know who your best customers are, determined by the data not an educated guess. Then, using that data, you can learn how best to communicate with your current customers and how to locate and attract new customers who are like the ones that support your business best. Complicated sounding terms like “data mining” and “customer data profiling” and “data modeling and segmentation” all speak to this basic and relatively simple concept. But these methods have to be put to proper use.

This session will help you understand the principles at play when digging into your customer demographics and database, giving you some mastery over a marketing resource you already own.

SESSION 2
If You Can’t Measure It, Don’t Do It.
ALL marketing and promotions can be measured in today’s digital world. Learn how to think differently about ROI.

Calls generated, page-views, unique visits, clicks, lead generation, CRM, loyalty programs, service reminders, newspaper, radio, yellow pages, flyers… the one thing all media has in common is the responsibility to answer one simple question: is it working? That’s it. If you spend $X on any campaign, does that campaign produce results that are greater than the value of $X?

In this session we will examine some of the tracking, measurement and reporting tools available to shop owners and service industry marketers that will allow them to answer the age old question: is my advertising working?

Loss of Tension in the Accessory Dive Belt System Can Create Problems for You!

New “Industry Changing” Information by Gates Corporation

One of the most significant investments you can make during this years show is visiting the Gates booth #C9321/ Educational Theater #2!
You will learn about new, “Industry Changing” information concerning the Accessory Belt Drive System!

The serpentine belt is one of the most important parts under the hood of today’s vehicles. Its specific job is to transfer power from the crank pulley to all accessories in the Automatic Belt Drive System (ABDS) which it does through a tension / wedging process. On average, a serpentine belt will cycle over one hundred million belt revolutions depending on the length of the belt during its life cycle. Power-hungry accessories such as alternators, air conditioners, power steering and water pumps place a tremendous load on the system as they cycle on and off.

A slipping belt through loss of tension can be one of the worst things that can happen to the Automatic Belt Drive System creating problems such as:
-- Reduced cooling capacity from the fan
-- Poor charging from the alternator
-- Reduction in performance from the A/C
-- Creates and conducts heat into the components and its bearings
-- Facilitates pulley wear
-- Reduces overall belt life
-- False Codes / Check Engine

Join us and learn:

--Belt technology has changed and so has the inspection techniques
--How loss of belt tension affects every accessory in the ABDS system and where this loss comes from.
--How to effectively use the new belt wear tool from Gates to inspect for loss of rib material in the belt
--Gain understanding of the importance the tensioner plays in the system along with how to identity specific failure modes associated with it.

If you truly would like to increase your profits while eliminating comebacks and unneeded warranties then Gates Corporations “Industry Changing” information is the stop for you.
