| It will deal with the required analysis and planning steps that should be part of any lean-based pre-dispatch damage assessment and repair planning process. The key to its success is that that these comprehensive planning steps are completed before a vehicle enters the production area and before any repair work has begun. Our system focuses on identifying all of the damage: visible damage and hidden damage, which includes structural damage that is not detected during a visual inspection and which can only be identified by accurately measuring the vehicle’s structural components.
The goal of the CAR-O-LINER Comprehensive Repair Planning (C-CRP) system is to eliminate unnecessary delays to the repair process resulting from discovering damage too late: after the job has been committed to the production process. Damage that was not identified during a preliminary visual damage assessment slows the repair down, wasting time and consuming resources. Our process can be easily implemented because it is based on the premise of “Flexible” structural diagnosis. Many manufacturers are moving away from the traditional “One Line, One Model” vehicle assembly process and are instead utilizing “Flexible Body Assembly” procedures. This allows manufacturers to build multiple platforms on the same assembly line with rapid changeover. This minimizes construction costs and allows a vehicle manufacturer to readily adapt to changes in consumer demand. Since CAR-O-LINER users have virtually all of the components needed to diagnose and repair a damaged vehicle on hand at any time, the system has a high degree of flexibility, and can readily adapt to the needs of the customer and the pulse of the market. |
