For the record, NACE 2009 was of tremendous value to us, and given my way, I would like to continue to exhibit in the future. It is a great opportunity to get together face-to-face with the people we sell to directly. In the right circumstances, if all the paint manufacturers (our main customer) either exhibit or attend, I can take every opportunity over the three or four days to sit with them to discuss everything we need to. "In a nutshell... this is best NACE show we have ever had!  It would appear that the show was somewhat smaller and attendance was somewhat down.  Despite that, the people who did attend the show were truly the people we wanted to talk to.  They were shop owners and managers who were serious about their business, and that wanted to talk about OE programs and initiatives.  We didn't have the people who came with their kids to see how many freebie widgets they could grab up. This year we made more presentations and talked to more people about the business we came to talk about - than ever before. Months before the event, we make a list of the training that is needed, equipment that we would like more information on and questions that we would like answers to. ASRW did not let us down. I feel that we left the event with a distinct advantage over those that did not attend. If your business is selling parts or installing aftermarket accessory products, there are several other shows that you may get a benefit from. But if you are a professional collision or mechanical shop that is serious about automotive repair and service, there is only one place to go.
